There’s a video I made a number of years ago as I was just getting started on this ridiculous social media ‘career’. It’s myself and my family and we’re looking pretty damn happy.
The video did well. People love happy families.
What you don’t see in the video happened the night before when we arrived back home to find a notice on our front door.
Yeah… one of those notices.
Our previous business had been hacked (true story… horrible story) and it ruined us financially for about 8 years. A very long 8 years.
But there was no fucking way I was giving up on this new opportunity. I could tell that there was something to this new ‘career’ I had stumbled upon.
It made me happy. It made my family happy.
It seemed to be starting to pay the bills.
And no notice on our front door was going to stop me from pursuing it.
I let that confidence in a better future for my family fill my thoughts.
I wanted people to see that confidence in my eyes and hear it in my voice.
Right after we filmed that video, we took the kids to school, I dropped my Shannon off at her then job and I went to the bank to… beg… well, confidently beg for time.
It worked.
I’m not saying every situation is solved that easily and to be honest it wasn’t that easy at the time… but I refused to give up on a good thing. A good thing I believed in. A good thing I forced myself to even further believe in.
If you’re facing obstacles on your road to being happy…
Don’t give up.

Perseverance paid off.
A great reminder to stay positive and never give up.
