I’m in the UK.
For a couple of reasons.
One being the delayed and hilariously bungled release of my book which was supposed to come out here in November in perfect time for the large and very popular “I Guess I’ll Buy Them a Book” holiday.
It’s now coming out on February 29th.
Based on all previous attempts at selling books by my publisher, I firmly believe this date was chosen as a joke gone awry when they realized this is a leap year.
Anyway, it’s coming out, at the very least, in the form of me sitting in the Lamb and Flag pub Covent Garden (Charles Dickens’ local when it was known as the ‘Bucket of Blood’) at around 2PM on that day giving away a handful of signed copies (if you’re around).
The other reason I’m here is… well, you’ll have to wait to find out as I’m not allowed to say yet.
But… that’s not what I’m writing about today.
This trip has allowed me to create, as my son Gregor called it, a Crossover Episode.
I have two nieces; Angelina and Astrid.
Angelina lives in Canada and Astrid lives in England.
They have never met… until yesterday.
Now, this sort of thing happens all the time.
People who’ve never met… meeting.
I mean, otherwise they wouldn’t have come up with a word for it.
However, in that moment when they met it felt like my family, my community of people I care about, got more real.
And a bit better… or at least novel.
Yes, a Crossover Episode.
Like when Batman and Robin were on Scooby-Doo.
You don’t want them to always be in the same episode but it sure is exciting when they are.

Well, at least THEY appear to be having a good time. 😆
I think they need to visit Uncle Stewart for the summer to take in the Stratford Season 😂
