THERE'S MORE GOOD - Brittlestar’s Weekly Newsletter - Issue #48
Some kid and their mom staying at a shelter this year put some items they can only hope to receive on their wish list at ChristmasWishTree.com
THERE'S MORE GOOD
I made a video on Friday immediately after my vaccine booster shot.
It spoke to the notion that I am willing to do what I have to do to help get us through this pandemic and I trust the doctors and scientists to guide us through this historic event. Much like yourself, I’m sure.
It kinda went viral. Over 1 million views in under 24 hours.
It got retweeted by all sorts of people… famous and not famous.
It got retweeted by some people who didn’t agree with me.
Then open season started in the replies. Open season for the scared, misinformed or just plain ignorant to take their shot at me for daring to suggest that we work together to make things better and get back to normal.
I was called (in no particular order):
Nazi
Light in the loafers (a personal favourite, I mean… 1. Not an insult and 2. What year is it?)
Cuckold
Tubby
that I’m probably getting estrogen injections (I’m picking up notes of… misogyny, transphobia and… lustful projection?)
and probably more
Okay.
I try not to wade into the comments. Hardly ever replying because it’s rarely worth it. That said, if you left a lovely comment, thank you.
I learned a long time ago that I do not need to dance with everyone who asks.
But comments left with intent to harm seem louder than the nice ones. It’s just the nature of nastiness and ignorance.
Ignorance is loud…
BUT don’t be fooled.
Ignorant and horrible people are in the minority. They just seem to have larger numbers because they’re so loud (literally and figuratively).
There’s more good.
Like you. So, thanks.
It’s just that good people don’t go around yelling good and smart things all the time.
Maybe they should start?
